The Raptor is the workhorse of the Colonial Fleet. Used to transport troops and as scouts for the fleet, Raptor pilots are some of the most well known members of the Colonial Armed Forces. Most Capital Ships are assigned at least one Raptor to act as a transport for the ship's commanding officer (thus sparing the use of the much larger shuttles used to ferry large numbers of people back and forth). There is a squadron of Raptors assigned to the Prometheus, all under the command of the Air Support Group Commander.
